This was my weekend watch. It’s a fantastic, far-reaching discussion across the evolution of virtue, morality, free trade and more. It touches on the green revolution and on Ridley’s Rational Optimist perspective (similar to Steven Pinker’s Enlightenment Now.

I’ve long been fascinated by the magical quality of bonsai, but imagined a heady responsibility (nurturing and tending a tiny, decades-old specimen) steeped in ritual.

What a great band. I saw them, when I was still at school, at the Inverness Ice Rink. They were/are one of the few bands that continued to record very strong cover versions (Beggar’s Day, Love Hurts, Cocaine, Java Blues etc) alongside their own originals: Hair of the Dog (which Guns ‘n’ Roses later recorded), Expect No Mercy, Holiday etc.
